1 failed

3 could   

v.能，可能(can的过去式)；aux.v.(can的过去式)能；可以

参考例句：

• Could I open the window?我可以打开窗子吗？
• I could wait ten minutes.我可以等十分钟。

4 ever   

adv.曾经；永远；不断地；在任何时候；究竟

参考例句：

• Have you ever been to hangzhou?你曾经去过杭州吗？
• I will be young and strong and beautiful for ever.我将永远年轻、强壮，永远漂亮。

5 persuade   

v.说服，劝说，说服；adj.空闲的，有闲的

参考例句：

• Can you persuade him out of his foolish plans?你能说服他放弃他那愚蠢的计划吗？
• It's easy to persuade him if you go the right method.只要你的方法得当，说服他并不难。

6 set   

n.组合，集合，设定；一套，一副，一局比赛；v.放置，设定；(太阳)落下去

参考例句：

• He set to with a will and soon finished it.他下定决心做这件事，很快就完成了。
• The bus set the children down just outside the school gate.公共汽车让孩子们正好在学校门口下车。

7 mind   

n.思想，主意，心意；v.介意，照顾，留心

参考例句：

• I've changed my mind.我一经转变主意。
• You really don't mind?你真的不介意？

8 heart   

n.心，中心，要点；v.鼓起勇气，激励

参考例句：

• He is old in body but young in heart.他人老心不老。
• I thank you from the bottom of my heart.我从心坎里感谢你。

9 as   

conj.按照；如同

参考例句：

• He got work in a hotel as a waiter.他在一家旅馆找到了当服务生的工作。
• In the hotel,the old men were drinking away as usual.在旅馆里，这些老人和往常一样喝个不停。

10 castle   

n.城堡，象棋中的车；vt.置于城堡中，筑城堡防御

参考例句：

• We had to give up the castle.我们不得不放弃这座城堡了。
• He took a photograph of the castle.他拍了一张这个城堡的照片。

11 seen   

vbl.(see的过去分词)看见

参考例句：

• Since I left college, I have not seen him.自从我离开大学以后，就没有见过他了。
• I hope to have seen the film next week.我希望下星期能看到这部电影。

12 made   

v.make的过去式和过去分词

参考例句：

• They were not made in china.它们不是中国制造的。
• The monkey made a long arm for the peach.猴子伸臂去摘桃子。

13 huge   

adj.巨大的，庞大的

参考例句：

• He gave me a huge apple.他给了我一个大苹果。
• His acting raised a huge laugh.他的表演引起一阵大笑。

14 mistake   

n.错误，误会；v.犯错，误认

参考例句：

• Don't make the same mistake again.不要再犯同样的错。
• I made a mistake but you should give me a chance.我犯了一次错误，但你应该给我一次机会。
