Russian has announced it will no longer let the United States use Russian-made rocket motorsfor military space launches. The Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin said the decision was aresponse to US sanctions against Moscow over the crisis in Ukraine. Separately Mr. Rogozinsaid Moscow would not prolong the use of the international space station after 2020 goingagainst a US request.

A French photo journalist has been killed in the Central African Republic.The French presidencysaid it will do everything possible to find the killers11 of Camille Lepage.She was 26.Sources fromthe French intervention12 force in base CAR said her body had been found along with fourothers in a truck driven by Christian8 militiamen.Ten people have been detained forquestioning.Camille Lepage's work had been published by the BBC as well as leadingnewspapers.
Turkish officials say at least 17 miners have been killed in an explosion and a fire at a mine inthe west of the counrty and rescue operation is under way to bring out more than 200 othersbelieved to be trapped on the ground.Oxygen has been pumped into the mine to help thembreathe.Large crowds of people have gathered near the site outside the town of Soma and thehospital where more than 25 rescued miners have been taken.
An underwater investigator13 says he believes he has found the wreck14 of the flagship ofChristopher Columbus which sunk during his expedition to the Americas. Around Christmas of 1492 the large ship in Christopher Columbus' three vessel15 expedition tothe Americas sunk after hitting reefs.According to accounts from the time, timbers from theSanta Maria were used to construct a fortification close to shore and this has claimedprovided key evidence in finding what explorer Barry Clifford says is the historic ship. His teamfirst found the vessel in 2003 but misidentified a vital clue, a cannon16 on the sea floor. Only twoyears ago was the mistake discovered and using additional information from Columbus'sdiary, Clifford realized the location matched his description.
