The Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a strategic partnership10 agreement with Georgia's breakaway region of Abkhazia which has sparked an angry reaction from Georgia. The deal will reportedly see Russia invest 260 million dollars in Abkhazia by the end of 2017 and create joint11 Russian and Abkhazian military forces. Georgia's foreign minister denounced the moves as a step towards the annexation12 of Abkhazia by Russia. The signing of the deal comes days after tens of thousands of Georgians took part in a rally against the planned agreement.?
