Germany has warned the new Greek government that it must live up to its commitments to creditors¹. As the radical² left wing Greek leader Alexis Tsiras was sworn as Prime Minister. German government spokesman Stephan Holzinger said Greece had to stick to promises made as part of its international bailout deal.

Kurdish officials say their forces have won a lengthy⁵ battle with Islamic State militants⁶ for control of a Syrian city of Kabani.
