In a dramatic combat, the former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has won the majority in the general election, defeating the governing Barisan Nasional which has been in power for more than 60 years. Ninety-two-year-old Doctor Mahathir came out of retirement¹, to take on his former protege, Najib Razak and the party he himself led for years. At a news conference in the last hour, Mr. Mahathir announced his victory.

Pastor⁸ Kim Dong-chul was arrested in October 2015, and charged with stealing military secrets on behalf of South Korea. He was sentenced to 10 years hard labour. Tony Kim and Kim Hak-song both worked at a university in Pyongyang, they were detained last year accused of committing hostile act against the state. As the three men were brought out, North Korean officials were quoted as saying that the release was a "hard decision". They also issued a warning that the men should take care, not to make the same mistakes again.
