Germany has warned the new Greek government that it must live up to its commitments to creditors1 as the radical2 left wing Greek leader Alexis Tsiras was sworn as Prime Minister. Kurdish offcials say their forces have won a lengthy5 battle with Islamic State militants6 for control of a Syrian city of Kabani. The kurds in Kabani are jubilant after 131 days of fighting, they say they've triumphed over the so called Islamic State. Final cleanup is under way, said the leader of the town counsil. If this is indeed the victory the Kurds claim, it would not have happened without American bombing. Even with hundreds of air strikes, the Jahadis were at once stage in possession of the half of the town. This setback7 for IS does not necessarily mean they are losing overall. Syrian opposition8 sources say IS actually have more territory under their control now than when the United States and its ally started bombing last August.
