The eurozone's struggling exporters are urging governments and the European Central Bank to force down the euro. Several European companies, including Airbus, the cement maker¹ Lafarge and the pharmaceutical² firm Sanofi are now saying the euro's current strength is hurting their profits. Guillaume de Laforcade of the craft brewery³, Brasserie Castelain, near Lens in France tells us how he's having to adapt his business to the soaring single currency. Meanwhile, a major summit on jobs in Paris causes controversy⁴ as many trade unions refuse to attend. Also, as the French retailer⁵ Carrefour announces that it's quitting India, we examine the country's barriers to foreign investment with Dr Sourindra Banerjee from the UK's Warwick Business School.
