So when talking about University to people, we usually just abbreviate¹ it to "Uni" It's much easier!

当我们说大学这个单词的时候，我们通常就简化说成“uni”，听上去更加容易。

Most unis will have the name of the region or city they are based in. Such as "Harbin / Hunan / Beijing / Cambridge / Oxford²".

很多大学都以地区命名..比如说哈尔滨大学，湖南大学，北京大学，剑桥大学，牛津大学等等。

This is the most usual, but some use county names to, like the "American University" in Washington D.C.

还有一些是以国家名字命名，比如在华盛顿的美国大学。

Some uni names can have extra added on titles, such as "Royal" or "Christian³".

有一些大学的名字会加一些头衔，比如说皇室或者基督教的等等。

2 Oxford   

n.牛津（英国城市）
