Compare might well at might.   2.       Electronics1 did, in fact, make possible sounds that no instrument up to that time could produce.   possible在句中作宾补，并提到宾语sound及其定语从句之前。详见第四课语法要点。   3.       And in studio recordings2, new techniques made possible effects that not even an electronic band could produce live.   本句结构与上句一样，均为宾语与宾补倒置。live在定语从句中作状语。   live  a./adv.  现场直播的   e.g. This evening there will be a live broadcast of the debate.   今晚将现场直播这场辩论。 Ive got two tickets to see Genesis perform live.   我有两张观看创世纪乐队现场演奏的票。   Electronic amplifiers also made possible a fantastic increase in volume, the music _becoming_ (become) as loud and penetrating3 as the human ear could stand, and thereby4 achieving a total effect, so that instead of an audience of passive listeners, there were now audiences of total participants, feeling the music in all of their senses and all of their bones.
