The United Nations is reporting "some" progress in the fight against Ebola.
联合国报告支出,与埃博拉病毒的战斗取得了“一些”进展。
David Nabarro is the senior U.N. coordinator1 for the international response to Ebola.
"In parts of West Africa where the elements are put in place, where communities are fully2 involved in response, there is a slowing of the outbreak, fewer cases appearing each week, and that's I think is a real source of inspiration."
But at the same time, Nabarro is cautioning the outbreak is not contained, noting many new cases are emerging every day in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
"Expanding the response and at the same time mobilization of communities is showing promising3 results but I am afraid that we have to keep going, keep going, keep going until the last person with Ebola is under treatment."
In its latest update, the World Health Organization says the death toll4 from the current Ebola outbreak stands at 5,160.
More than 14,000 people have been infected.
Virtually all of them are in West Africa.
