China is exporting the very latest in hi-tech trams to Europe. Four ultra-low floor trams are on their way to Turkey.

The trams were designed and built by the China CNR Corporation, one of China's biggest tram makers¹, which won the bid ahead of Siemens and Alstom. It's the first time Chinese-made trams have entered the European market.

The ultra low-floor design is environmentally friendly, with low Carbon Dioxide emissions², and is also very quiet. With its floor just 400 millimetres above the height of the rail, it offers a high standard of passenger comfort.

The trams are being shipped to Turkey by the world's biggest cargo³ plane, the Antonov An-225 Mriya.
