Jiang Geng, 35, was also rescued, after floating in the river for four hours. Li told Jiang not to worry about his medical expenses, saying the government would cover the cost.
Talking with two other injured men, Li enquired about the situation while they were trapped on the ship and asked them whether they had heard the shouts of other people calling for help.
Li also expressed his appreciation to all the medical workers in the hospital.
