CPC chief Xi Jinping says every corrupt¹ official must be punished.

中国共产党领导人习近平表示，任何官员只要涉及腐败问题，都要受到惩处。

His comments came while addressing a meeting of the CPC disciplinary watchdog.

习近平在中国共产党纪律检查会议上发表讲话时提出以上要求。

He also stressed on the need for consistency² in anti-corruption efforts to eradicate³ it completely and earn public trust with actual results.

习近平还强调道，反腐倡廉必须常抓不懈，要铲除腐败现象，以实际成效取信于民。

China says it's maintaining communication with Japan on the Diaoyu Islands issue.

中方表示，中日之间就钓鱼岛问题保持着沟通。

Foreign Ministry⁴ spokesperson Hong Lei says China is urging Japan to calmly handle the situation and show sincerity⁵ in working with China to properly resolve the dispute.

外交部发言人洪磊表示，中方希望日方在钓鱼岛问题上切实地冷静对待，显示诚意，与中方合作找到妥善解决的办法。

His remarks come as the leader of Japan's New Komeito Party kicks off a three-day visit to China.

日本公明党党首开启为期三天的访华行程，不久后洪磊发表了以上言论。

Natsuo Yamaguchi is reportedly bringing a personal letter from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Chinese Vice⁶ President Xi Jinping.

据报道，山口那津男带来了日本首相安倍晋三写给中国副主席习近平的亲笔信。

He became the first member of a ruling party to visit China since Abe unveiled his new cabinet in late December.
