 Mike: I just got a promotion¹ in my job at the video arcade². I'm now a video game technician, so that means I get to fix the games and don't have to deal with customers at all! Customers always find a way to ruin my day. I'm so glad to be through with them!

Amanda: That's your attitude toward customer service? What about "the customer is always right" and "we live to serve our customers"?

Mike: Those slogans are fine for fancy stores, but not at the video arcade. The people who come here don't care about service, and we don't care about them. It's kind of a rough place.

Amanda: I'm glad I don't work there. I wouldn't want to work in any kind of customer service job. I like my gardening job much better.

Mike: But you have to be out in the hot sun all the time and you have to actually work! I may hate customers, but at least I can slack off sometimes.

Amanda: I don't mind working hard, and I like being outside. I work for some really nice old people. One old lady I work for has ten cats!

Mike: You and your cats! Now I really don't envy your job!
