Mike: Did you drop Angela and Simon a line to remind them about the barbeque tomorrow night?

Amanda: Sure. I also scribbled¹ down some things we should go and pick up from the supermarket when we've got time later.

Mike: Let's not buy that ubiquitous barbeque sauce that people always slather all over their meat. I want to try making my own marinades. I could do a sweet one for chicken and a spicy² one for the steak. I'll also wrack³ my brains and see if I can come up with a Moon Festival cocktail⁴.

Mike: Not at all! The world and his wife will be out barbequing. There'll be screaming kids everywhere, not to mention all that noxious⁷ barbecue smoke. Looks like I'll be spending the whole evening biting my tongue.
