show grit ：拿出你的勇气来，展现你的勇气。grit 的本意是粗砂，很容易让人感觉坚韧、顽强。

e.g. <1>Once the team started losing they didn’t try anymore. They really didn’t show much grit.
这个队伍一输球就不再努力了，他们真的没拿出勇气来。

<2>You need to show some grit if you want to succeed in the rough world of business.

如果想在艰难的商界胜出，你需要拿出勇气来。

（rough  ： hard, difficult ）

经典对白

1. 剧中：This place been hit before?

hit ：这里表示被盗的意思，相当于rob。 hit 的本意表示重击。 be hit by something 被什么给予重重一击

e.g. <1>The telephone company hit me with a bill for over $1000.

电信公司的帐单给我以重击啊，我电话费居然1000美元。

<2>When her cat died she was really hit hard by it. It affected² her a lot – she was sad for weeks.

她的猫的死真的给她重重的一击。这个事情对她影响太深了，她难过了几个星期。

2．剧中：Let’s just track this thing through.

track ：原意表示轨道，这里用作动词表示跟踪，追逐。相当于 follow or to discover exactly what happened

e.g. <1>The police secretly tracking the movements of a few suspects to try and gain some evidence.

警察秘密跟踪几个可以人物的行动，试图获取一些证据。

1 grit   

n.沙粒，决心，勇气；v.下定决心，咬紧牙关

参考例句：

• The soldiers showed that they had plenty of grit. 士兵们表现得很有勇气。

2 affected   

adj.不自然的，假装的

参考例句：

• She showed an affected interest in our subject.她假装对我们的课题感到兴趣。

参考例句：
