　　英语中有很多词语可以表达“害怕”之意，这些形形色色的“怕”，你会用吗？

　　1. I’m afraid I can’t come to your wedding.

　　我恐怕参加不了你的婚礼了。

　　2. He is really afraid of the dark.

　　他真的挺怕黑的。

　　3. I have a great fear of sharks.

　　我很怕鲨鱼。

　　4. I’m worried it might rain today.

　　我怕明天会下雨。

　　5. I fear I won’t finish my assignment on time.

　　我担心我不能按时完成作业了。

　　6. I’m frightened I might fall.

　　我很害怕自己会掉下去。

　　7. James is scared to death of flying.

　　詹姆斯怕坐飞机怕得要命。

　　8. That movie was absolutely terrifying.

1 petrified   

adj.惊呆的；目瞪口呆的v.使吓呆，使惊呆；变僵硬；使石化(petrify的过去式和过去分词)

2 dreading   

v.害怕，恐惧，担心( dread的现在分词 )

参考例句：

• This was the moment he had been dreading. 这是他一直最担心的时刻。

3 jitters   

n.pl.紧张(通常前面要有the)

参考例句：

• I always get the jitters before exams. 我考试前总是很紧张。
• The whole city had the jitters from the bombing. 全城居民都为轰炸而心神不宁。
