　　Why did you yell bloody¹ murder in the office?

　　你干嘛在办公室大吼大叫？

　　yell bloody murder字面意思是：“您看到血腥谋杀一样地叫嚷”，就像汉语中经常使用的那个比喻“杀猪一样的嚎叫”，是一个非常生动的习语，既包含了吵的架势，也包含了闹的色彩。这是个典型的美式口语，在英国则用scream blue murder表达同样的意思。因此，当美国人说"Why did you yell bloody murder in the office?"时，他/她要表达的意思就是:"Why did you scream in the office?"、"Why did you shout in the office?"。
