　　I quit because I don't want to be stuck in a rut.

　　be stuck in a rut 直译过来就是：“被卡在一个凹槽里”，rut本身指车轮驶过留下的印痕，引申指从过去延续下来的老一套，老规矩。这个习语的正确意思是：“处于墨守成规、一成不变、不思进取的一种状态”。因此，当美国人说"I quit because I don't want to be stuck in a rut."时，他/她要表达的意思就是:"I quit because I don't want to fall into a set pattern."、"I quit because I'd like to try something new and creative."、
