英国不着急退出欧盟 今年不会正式启动退欧程序

 　　German Chancellor¹ Angela Merkel has supported Theresa May's decision to delay the start of the UK formally withdrawing from the European Union.

　　德国总理安格拉·默克尔公开表示，支持英国新任首相特蕾莎·梅延后英国正式退出欧盟的决定。

　　May arrived in Berlin on her first overseas trip since becoming Prime Minister. Speaking in Berlin, she said securing a "sensible and orderly departure" from the EU would take time.

　　在成为首相之后，特蕾莎·梅日前抵达柏林，完成了第一次海外出访。她在柏林发表讲话称，确保英国“合理、有序地离开”欧盟要花一些时间。

　　But she insisted the UK would not "walk away" from Europe and wanted to retain the "closest economic links".

　　但是她也坚称，英国不会就此“离开”欧盟，并且希望能够保持“最紧密的经济联系”。

　　At a joint³ press conference, Mrs May said the UK was in no rush to trigger the two-year process of leaving the EU - telling reporters that although "this would not please everyone" it was right to hold off until the UK's "objectives were clear".

　　在一场联合新闻发布会上，特蕾莎·梅表示，英国并不急于开展为期两年的退欧程序--她告诉记者，尽管“这不会让所有人都满意”，但是在英国的“目标变得明确”之前，按兵不动是正确的选择。

　　The process of preparing the UK for Brexit would require "serious and detailed⁴ work" but, irrespective of this, she said the UK was determined⁵ to maintain strong trading, economic and security links with Germany, which she described as "a vital partner and special friend".

　　准备英国退欧的程序需要“认真、细致的工作”，但是无论怎样，特蕾莎表示，英国决心和德国保持强劲的贸易、经济和安全关系，她把德国形容为“一个至关重要的合作伙伴、一个特别的朋友”。

　　"Of course, the nature of our relationship is going to change as the UK leaves the EU, but we both want to maintain the closest possible economic relationship between our countries and I believe that is what German and British businesses want too," she said.

　　特蕾莎说道：“当然，由于英国退出了欧盟，我们之间关系的性质将会发生改变，但是我们双方都希望英、德两国能够保持这尽可能最密切的经济关系，而且我认为这也是德国和英国的企业想要的。”

　　The UK had been scheduled to take up the presidency⁶ of the Council of the EU - which rotates on a six-monthly basis between the 28 EU countries, giving each the opportunity to shape the agenda - in the second half of 2017. But Mrs May has decided⁷ that Britain should skip its turn in the light of the Brexit vote in June's referendum.

　　英国按原计划应在2017年下半年担任欧盟理事会轮值主席国。欧盟轮值主席国制度使得28个欧盟成员国轮流担任主席六个月，这样就使得每个成员都有机会来按自己的意愿塑造这个机构。但是特蕾莎认为，由于6月份退欧公投的缘故，英国应该会跳过这次轮值机会。
