教育部发布通知 高校扩招农村生贫困生

 　　China will continue to implement¹ a special college enrollment³ program for students from rural and poor regions in 2017 and key colleges and universities in the country will recruit more such students, according to a circular issued by the Ministry⁴ of Education.

　　教育部近日发布的一份通知称，2017年我国将继续实施高校招收农村和贫困地区学生专项计划，国内重点高校将招收更多农村和贫困地区学生。

　　According to the special program, key universities at national and provincial⁵ levels enroll² students from targeted areas to give students from rural and poor regions more access to quality higher education.

　　根据该专项计划，国家级和省级重点高校面向目标地区招收学生，以扩大农村和贫困地区学生接受优质高等教育的机会。

　　In a special national program, universities will enroll 63,000 students from underdeveloped regions in 2017, covering impoverished⁶ counties, key counties in the national poverty relief plan as well as some areas in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous⁷ region.

　　2017年，国家专项计划将招收6.3万名来自欠发达地区的学生，实施区域涵盖特殊困难县、国家级扶贫开发重点县和新疆维吾尔自治区部分地区。

　　Universities in a special regional program plan to enroll 10% more rural students in 2017 than in 2016.

　　地方专项计划今年计划招收的农村学生数量比2016年增加10%。

　　The circular also called for the setting up of a strict examination system to ensure the quality of candidates.

　　此外，该通知还呼吁建立一个严格的考试制度，以确保候选学生的质量。
