Multiple people are dead after a shooting at a video game tournament in US state of Florida. One suspect is dead, but it's unknown whether there is a second person involved. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tweeted that the area is not safe and people should stay away.

Border force officials say they are searching for a group of people onboard an illegal fishing boat in far north Queensland. Authorities located the abandoned boat in the Daintree River area. Eleven people have already been found. It's unclear if they are asylum⁵ seekers or illegal fisherman.

Protesters also gathered to demonstrate against the first papal visit there in almost 40 years. The Pope begged forgiveness for the "scandal and betrayal" felt by the many victims.
