NEAR ACCIDENT²

laurance--How about that?
soony--What?What happened?
laurance--Did³ you see what that guy⁴ did?
soony--No.I was⁵ looking the other way.
laurance--He made⁶ a U-turn right in the middle
          of the block⁷ and almost⁸ hit a kid⁹ on
          a bicycle.
soony--Drivers get crazier¹⁰ every day!
laurance--Right.Nobody¹¹ wants to drive by the rules
          anymore¹².

注解:
How about that:这是对后果难预料的行为、动作所发出的惊叹.
the other way:相反的方向
U-turn:即三百六十度的调头.左转弯叫left-turn,右转弯叫日right-turn.
       注意搭配的动词是make.

1 dialogue   

n.对话；vi.对话；vt.用对话表达

参考例句：

• Practise the dialogue in pairs.两人一组练习对话。
• The dialogue went on until nine o'clock.谈话一直到九点。

2 accident   

n.事故，意外的事

参考例句：

• He had a traffic accident.他出了交通事故。
• An accident was happened yesterday.昨天发生了一起事故。

3 did   

v.动词do的过去式

参考例句：

• How many goals did you score in the last game?上一场比赛你们进了几个球？
• Why did you choose basketball in the first place?你为何首先选择篮球呢？

4 guy   

n.(美，口语)家伙；青年；男人

参考例句：

• She lost her heart to the handsome guy.她爱上了这个漂亮的小伙子。
• That guy is very hard to deal with.那家伙很难对付。

5 was   

v.(is,am的过去式)是，在

参考例句：

• He said he was right.他说他是正确的。
• He was cold and hungry.他又冷又饿。

6 made   

v.make的过去式和过去分词

参考例句：

• They were not made in china.它们不是中国制造的。
• The monkey made a long arm for the peach.猴子伸臂去摘桃子。

7 block   

n.街区；v.阻塞

参考例句：

• We lived on the same block.我们住在同一街区。
• We walked round the block.我们绕着这个街区散步。

8 almost   

adv.几乎，差不多

参考例句：

• The band has been on the road for almost a month. 那支乐队进行巡回演出近一个月了。
• We stay in almost every night and watch television.我们几乎每个晚上都在家里看电视。

9 kid   

n.小孩；v.开玩笑，哄骗，嘲弄

参考例句：

• The kid was playing with his ball.孩子在玩皮球。
• Look at that cute kid.瞧瞧这可爱的小家伙。

10 crazier   

adj.摇摇晃晃的( crazy的比较级 )；愚蠢的；发疯的；急切的

参考例句：

• Never go to bed with anyone crazier than yourself. 永远别跟比你疯狂的人一起睡觉。 来自互联网

11 nobody   

pron.无人，没有任何人

参考例句：

• Nobody is in the house.没有人在房子里。
• Nobody knows where she lives.没有人知道她住哪里。

12 anymore   

adv.不再， 再也不

参考例句：

• She doesn't live here anymore.她已不在这里住了。
• He doesn't come here anymore.他再也不到这儿来。
