President Trump¹ defended his former national security advisor², just two days after the President asked for and received Michael Flynn’s resignation.

The President alluded³ to the latest reports of ties between his presidential campaign and Russia – arguing the leaks from the intelligence community are trying to taint⁴ his electoral victory:

(President Trump) “People are trying to cover up for a terrible loss that the Democrats⁵ had under Hillary Clinton.”

The President said Flynn was treated “unfairly” by what he called the “fake media.” The President’s Press Secretary said the President had lost trust in Flynn.
