According to newly released documents, President Trump's former personal lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, was being investigated by Special Council Robert Mueller at least 9 months before his home and office were raided by the FBI. Prosecutors¹ were interested in some of Cohen's consulting contracts, including with an investment management company affiliated² with a Russian billionaire.

The only leader independent Kazakhstan has ever known, President Nursultan Nazarbayev, abruptly³ announced his resignation Tuesday after three decades in power. Many Kazakhstan watchers say the move was somewhat expected, but still raises uncertainty⁴ over the country's future.

In Yemen, the Houthi rebel group is saying it will not give up the key port city of Hodeida, the focus of months of UN-brokered talks with the government. A Houthis leader says it agreed to withdraw their forces but will remain in control of the city.

And in New York, the NYPD successfully wrangled⁵ a cow that got loose on a busy highway. It's unclear how the cow got on the road, but the animal is expected to be taken to an animal sanctuary⁶.
