When pumpkins¹ shine like balls of gold, 当南瓜像金球一样闪耀，

And the moon hangs big and mellow²; 悬在空中的月亮大而圆润时；

When the black cat’s fur is thick and cold, 当黑猫的皮毛厚实又冰冷，

And the gray cat’s eyes are yellow; 灰猫的眼睛泛着黄色光芒时；

When nuts fall plunk, and the frost cuts keen— 当坚果砰地一声掉落，霜冻冰冷彻骨时—

Look out, it’s Halloween! 当心啦，万圣节到了！

Now keep your eye on the tallest broom; 要留意最高的扫帚；

For if not, woe³ betide it— 否则就糟了—

An imp⁴ will whisk it out of the room, 小鬼会把它甩出房间，

And a gay old witch will ride it. 让快乐的老巫婆骑它而去。

Never again will that broom be seen— 你再也见不到那把扫帚了—

So watch out, Halloween! 所以一定要小心，万圣节到了！

 

1 pumpkins
