 Stand here by my side and turn, I pray, On the lake below thy gentle eyes; 我请你站在我身旁，转过身来，就在温柔的目光下的湖上；

The clouds hang over it, heavy and gray, And dark and silent the water lies; 朵朵云彩高悬，灰暗沉重，水面黝黑又平静；

And out of that frozen mist the snow In wavering flakes² begins to flow; 结成了霜雾的雪开始飘落几多；

Flake¹ after flake They sink in the dark and silent lake. 一片又一片融进黝黑平静的湖里。

See how in a living swarm³ they come From the chambers⁴ beyond that misty⁵ veil; 多大一群啊，它们从雾霭迷蒙遮掩下的云室走出；

Some hover⁶ in air awhile, and some Rush prone⁷ from the sky like summer hail. 有的在空中盘旋，有的像夏日的冰雹从空中坠落。

All, dropping swiftly, or settling slow, Meet, and are still in the depths below; 全都迅速下落，或者慢慢扶摇，相遇，仍旧在下面的深渊里；

Flake after flake Dissolved in the dark and silent lake. 一片又一片在黝黑平静的湖上消解。

Here delicate snow stars, out of the cloud, Come floating downward in airy play, 云朵闪出纤弱的雪白的星星，漂浮而来，像精灵一样下落，

Like spangles dropped from the glistening⁸ crowd That whiten by night the Milky⁹ Way; 就像从反光的群星坠落的精灵夜晚的银河亮如白昼；

There broader and burlier masses fall; The sullen¹⁰ water buries them all, 更宽阔和厚重的雪团在坠落；阴沉的水面将它们全都埋葬

Flake after flake,— All drowned in the dark and silent lake. 一片又一片——所有都沉入黝黑平静的湖里。

And some, as on tender wings they glide¹¹ From their chilly¹² birth cloud, dim and gray. 它们用柔软的翅膀滑翔从它们寒冷的云朵，昏暗又朦胧。
