Amanda, you should put priorities¹ where they belong. Dance should maybe be on the back burner.

Quit dance class, 'cause grades are more important.

Try to stop dancing and concentrate more on homework, because that's the most important thing. Dancing, you can do it any time.

It's okay to be passionate², but if you're — I mean, if that's your profession, go for it. If not, cut back.

You got to talk to your dance teacher. Tell him, "Hey, I've got these academics that I need to do. Let me, you know... I'll skip this day. I'll be back tomorrow. I just have this test I need to study for."

Think about alternative schooling³ if you really are serious about dance.

Do something that doesn't involve a virtual⁶ situation. And you'll be fine, girl. Just dry yo' tears.
