Once they start to smell, I'd wash them.

If you get really dirty, then you can wash them. But if they're not that dirty, you can probably still wear them.

I'd say you can wear dirty jeans for about two, maybe three days. If they're dark jeans and you spill¹ something on them, you know, when you wipe it off, it blends² in with the jeans, so that way you can't see it.
