 　　Nick: Hi everybody, this is Nick. Welcome to teaching series "how do you say this in American English."大家好，我是Nick. 因为这个礼拜brad和我都休假，所以大家暂时听不到brad声音。但是我想啊，我特别舍不得大家，所以还是坚持录这个节目。

　　今天我们要讲的表达是，脑子短路。脑子短路在中文是一个很幽默的表达。分场合，正式场合不太用，但是在朋友说话的时候，显得非常幽默。就是说你一时记不起来某件事情，某件东西。比如你在跟朋友谈到学英语，你觉得有一个节目非常好，但是你就是记不起来名字。后来记起来了，哦原来是美语怎么说这个节目。那我们假设我们有个好朋友叫jack¹，和你聊天，他说 "hey Nick, how is it going?" 然后你回答说，"good, just a little bit busy. I've been learning English". 然后他说"Oh wow. That's good. How?"然后你回答说 "I subscribed² a teaching series called...called what..uh" 然后你拼命摇头，你记不起来"um...called what." 然后你拼命摇头。对吧，你记不起来 "sorry, I can't really remember that". 你朋友就说， "Is it 'how do you say this in American English?'" 然后你恍然大悟, "Oh! That's it! It was a brain fart, sorry!" 就是说脑子短路了，一下子没想起来.

　　或者你也可以用来犯了一件低级错误。比如你明明拿着手机，却满世界找手机。你明明拿着眼镜，却满世界找眼镜。有时候会发生在我身上。这时候你的朋友jack又出现了，问，"Hey Nick. What are you doing? What are you looking for?" 然后你说"I'm looking for my phone, I thought I had it with me. I mean it's just. I don't know it's weird³. I need to call my friend."然后Jack说 "Oh what? Wait, Your phone? You are holding it! Man!" 然后你发现，咦，我真的在拿着诶。然后你满脸通红的说，"oh! It was a brain fart, brom I'm sorry"说是一个脑子短路了刚刚，记不起来。这就是一个脑子短路的用法。一时记不起来某件事情或者犯了很低级的错误。
