　　But, besides the application to him of the generic¹⁰ remark above, "裴廓德号"这位木匠除了做上面提到的一般事情以外，

　　this carpenter of the Pequod was singularly efficient in those thousand nameless mechanical emergencies continually recurring¹¹ in a large ship, 还格外善于应付一艘航程三四年，

　　upon a three or four years' voyage, in uncivilized and far-distant seas. 历遍许多蛮荒、辽远的海洋的大船不断发生的。
