Reports from Sierra Leone say riots have broken out in an eastern town after a medical staff tried to remove a 90-year-old woman from her home because she was suspected of having Ebola. At least two people are reported to have been killed when police opened fire when local people joined the disturbance1 in the town of Koidu. Our correspondent M. F. who was in the capital Freetown has been speaking to police about the woman's case.

But she also declared that she wouldn't be swayed by an angry public outcry for vengeance7. The five-year sentence means the athlete could be released after serving just 10 months. Opium9 poppy cultivation10 in Afghanistan has reached an all-time high according to a US report, despite the fact that Washington had spent more than 7.5 billion dollars over 13 years trying to eradicate11 it. Afghanistan produces about 80 percent of the world's opium, J. G. reports.
