　　A man enters a tavern¹, sits down at the bar, and orders a double martini on the rocks.

　　一个男人走进一家小酒馆，坐在吧台前，点了一杯双份的加冰马提尼酒。

　　After he finishes the drink, he peeks³ inside his shirt pocket, then he orders the bartender to prepare another double martini.

　　喝完后，他偷偷地往衬衫兜里瞥了一眼，然后再次招呼侍者给他来一杯双份的加冰马提尼酒。

　　After he finishes that one, he again peeks inside his shirt pocket and orders the bartender to bring another double martini.

　　喝完后，他又偷偷地往衬衫兜里瞥了一眼，然后再次招呼侍者给他来一杯双份的加冰马提尼酒。

　　The bartender says, "Look, buddy⁴, I'll bring you martinis all night long. But you've got to tell me why you look inside your shirt pocket before you order a refill."

　　侍者说：“我说老兄，如果你要喝，我会一整晚都给你上马提尼酒的。不过你得先告诉我为什么你续酒前要往衬衫口袋里看一眼。”

　　The man replies, "I'm peeking⁵ at a photo of my wife. When she starts to look good, then I know it's time to go home."

　　那个人答道：“我的口袋里是一张我老婆的照片，我每次喝酒前都看一下，等到她的面目变可爱的时候，我就该回家了。”
