The U.S. military is preparing the F-35 fighter jet for two air shows scheduled for the Summer in England.

On Monday the U.S. Marine¹ Corps² added they will send a pair of F-35Bs to premiere the aircraft at the annual Royal International Air Tattoo³.

Held in Farnborough, which is outside London, the air tattoo is the world's biggest air show.

Aircraft from the Air Force will also take part in the events.

The events will mark the new warplane's international debut⁴, which was initially⁵ scheduled for 2014.

During the RIAT two years ago, an F-35 engine caught fire; it's appearance was cancelled as a result.
