While speaking alongside South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Friday, Donald Trump¹ said that the United States' patience with the North Korean regime "is over."

In a statement from the Rose Garden at the White House, Trump said, "The era of strategic patience with the North Korean regime has failed. And, frankly², that patience is over."

He then went on to say that the US is facing "the threat of a reckless and brutal³ regime in North Korea" that "has no regard for the safety and security of its people or neighbors".

The remarks come from reports that Trump is growing increasingly frustrated⁴ with the lack of progress in halting North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
