Monitoring and clean-up work continues after the pipeline¹ explosion in Qingdao. Professionals from the departments of safety supervision², fire-fighting and the chemical industry have engaged in detection work.

120 monitoring points were set up to prevent a secondary explosion.

After monitoring day and night, no flammable gas was found, which ruled out the possibility of another explosion.

According to the city’s Maritime³ Safety Administration, the oil spill has spread across an area of 10,000 square meters in Jiaozhou Bay. Brown-colored oil can be found on many beaches. Oil displacement⁴ ships and hundreds of professional staff worked to prevent marine⁵ pollution by means of intercepting⁶, oil absorption and oil dissolution.
