In the past month, northern and eastern China experienced continuous smog. The China weather authority has said 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland have reported 4.7 smoggy days on average so far this year, that’s the highest number of days since 1961. Some regions recorded 10 to 15 smoggy days, including cities of Beijing and Tianjin.
Some areas in Shanxi, Henan and Jiangsu provinces reported a total of 15 to 20 smoggy days last month.
