An infra-red life detector system will be used once again for the rescue of the remaining trapped miners in east China's Shandong Province.
The system will be deployed once a life channel has been drilled through the underground mine tunnel. The rescue team has already drilled about 200 meters and are nearly finished.
The life detector system consists of two infra-red cameras, a lamp and two microphones. It can provide a live image from ten to 15 meters away, and a distance of 20 to 30 meters using the lamp. It will transmit footage and sound back to a receiver on the surface in real time. The life detector system had been used in the rescue of four other miners on Wednesday.
