A Russian spacecraft carrying three astronauts has docked at the International Space Station.
NASA says the crew docked some 400 kilometers above Earth over the Pacific Ocean, off the western coast of Peru, 6 hours after the rocket took off from a Russian base in Kazakhsta.
The trio on board are Russians Oleg Skriprochka and Alexey Ovchinin, and US Jeff Williams, a veteran of long-duration space missions. By the end of Williams' half-year trip aboard the ISS, he will become the American with the most cumulative time in space - 534 days.
The world record is held by Russia's Gennady Padalka, who racked up nearly 900 days over his career.
