China has pledged to ensure a stable, steady economic growth, at a reasonable pace. In his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Boao Forum for Asia in South China's Hainan, Premier Li Keqiang, says the government is looking to maintain a mid- to high-speed growth, while seeking to create new engines of growth.

Li Keqiang is making a speech at the opening ceremony of the 2016 annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia, held in China's Hainan on Thursday morning.

He says structural adjustment is a key to China' s economic transformation, and urbanization will create huge domestic demand. Li also promised to launch comprehensive reform in the financial sector.
