President Xi Jinping will start a three-day visit to the Czech Republic this Monday. President Xi will meet with his Czech counterpart to discuss China's "Belt and Road" initiative, as well as exchange views on other global and regional issues.
Both nations hope to increase bilateral ties in areas such as trade, infrastructure, finance, and cultural exchange. This will be the first visit by a Chinese head of state to the Czech Republic since the two countries established diplomatic ties 67 years ago.
President Xi will then fly to Washington to attend the fourth US Nuclear Security Summit. In his keynote speech, Xi will highlight Chinese achievements in nuclear security and propose new measures to strengthen global nuclear cooperation. Xi will also meet with US President Barack Obama and other state leaders on the sidelines of the summit to discuss their respective relations.
