At least 73 people have been killed in a road accident in Afghanistan. That's according to health ministry spokesman Ismail Kawoosi.
On Sunday, two buses collided with a fuel tanker on a highway in the central province of Ghazni, causing a massive explosion. The collision set off a fire, which engulfed all three vehicles. The buses were carrying some 125 passengers.
Afghan army units were rushed to the scene and managed to save some passengers. Most of the injured were in critical condition. It is one of the worst road accidents in the war-battered nation.
