A man has faced court in Melbourne charged over an alleged¹ terror plot to attack New Year's Eve celebrations. Police say the 20 year-old who was arrested in the Melbourne suburb of Werribee yesterday was at?tempting² to obtain a rifle which they believe he would then use to shoot revellers in Federation³ Square.
