The U.S. Centers for Disease Control says 9 million people in American have gotten a first shot of coronavirus vaccine¹. There are two different vaccines² that have been approved for emergency use in the U.S. And regardless of whether people get the one made by Pfizer and BioNTech or the one made by Moderna, health officials say two doses are needed to maximize the drug's effectiveness.
