The Justice Department says in addition to the already-started investigation¹ of the shooting death of teenager Michael Brown by a Ferguson police officer, there'll be a second civil rights inquiry² into how Ferguson law enforcement operates generally.

(Holder³) "Our investigation will assess the police department's use of force, including deadly force; it'll analyze⁴ stops, searches and arrests."

Attorney General Eric Holder says the new investigation also will include the treatment of people in Ferguson's jail.
