Less than two weeks after leaving office, former President Barack Obama issued a statement voicing his support for the protests going on around the country, saying “American values are at stake.”

The President had said that he’d refrain from criticizing President Trump¹, but retained the right to speak out on issues that directly impact his core values.

Mr. Obama’s spokesman reiterated² what the former President had said during his two terms office, that he fundamentally disagrees with the notion of discriminating³ against individuals because of their faith or religion.
