President Donald Trump's remarks this morning started with criticism of the U.N., saying the organization hasn't reached its full potential and is wracked with mismanagement, urging reforms:

(President Trump) "We encourage the secretary general to fully¹ use his authority to cut through the bureaucracy, reform outdated² systems and make firm decisions to advance the UN's core mission."

The President also said no member state should shoulder a disproportionate share of the burden and the U.N. shouldn't be beholden to ways of the past which aren't working.
