 Topic1 Migrants feel pain of separationA survey shows long-term separation from family members has become a top reason for migrant workers to consider quitting their jobs.

It says this represents a major challenge for companies to maintain an efficient and stable workforce¹.

The recently released survey also blames enterprises for a lack of awareness² about the problem and for insufficient³ support for their workers.

It is a difficult balancing act to do for the migrant workers, isn't it?

Some 61 percent of graduates in China's megacities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, chose to work and live in second- or third-tier cities in 2013.

That figure, according to Zhaopin.com, an institution dedicated⁵ to human resource services, was only 46 percent in 2011.

The report indicates that small cities offer the best job prospects⁶ for new graduates, due to their steady demand for talent.

Graduates are not the only ones to have turned to elsewhere as first-tier cities seem to have lost appeal and second-tier cities are taking off.

Topic4 Worst Chinese Movies of 2013Chinese magazine Youth Film Handbook announced nominees¹⁰ of the Fifth Golden Broom Award, the Chinese version of Golden Raspberry Award, an award presented in recognition of the worst in film. The winner list will be decided¹¹ by audiences who can vote via 10 major websites before February 1st.

The nominee⁹ list covers 40 Chinese films, 10 directors, 16 actors and 8 playwrights¹². The final winner list will be announced at the award ceremony on March 3rd.
