KIEV, Ukraine, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Co-host Ukraine led Group D after beating Sweden 2-1 at Euro 2012 on Monday.
Earlier in the Group D opener played in Donetsk, England forced France to a 1-1 draw in a tedious match.
Ukraine captain Andriy Shevchenko outshone Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the match, scoring two great headers to give Ukraine a 2-1 win.
Three minutes after Ibrahimovic opened the scoring for Sweden in the 52nd minute, Shevchenko responded by heading in the equalizer. He then added the winner in the 61st minute.
The victory boosted Ukraine's chance of qualifying from Group D after England and France drew 1-1.
