李克强总理表态 国务院已批准深港通实施方案

 　　The State Council has given the green light to a long-awaited plan to connect the Shenzhen and Hong Kong stock exchanges, further opening China's capital market.

　　人们期待已久的深圳证券交易所和香港联合交易所互联互通方案已获国务院批准，这使得我国资本市场进一步开放。

　　"Preparation for the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect has been generally completed and the State Council has approved the implementation¹ plan for the program," Premier² Li Keqiang said at a State Council executive meeting.

　　李克强总理在国务院常务会议上表示：“深港通相关准备工作已基本就绪，国务院已批准深港通实施方案。”

　　The move follows the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, adopted in 2014, which Li said has achieved the goals envisioned and earned positive feedback.

　　The addition of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange is a major step toward opening up the two mainland markets, according to financial analysts³.

　　The approval also shows the central government's support for Hong Kong's economy, says Liu Jipeng, a senior researcher at the China University of Political Science and Law.

　　The China Securities Regulatory Commission said in a statement that there would be no overall trading quota⁴ under the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect, and that the overall trading quota under the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect would be abolished. But the daily trading quota will remain, according to the commission.

　　The statement said it would take around four months to prepare for the mechanism's formal launch.
